EVERY PERSON IN AMERICA should have access to quality, affordable telecommunications, and broadband services regardless of income level.
Lifeline is a joint state and federal program that makes monthly telecommunications and broadband services more affordable for eligible households. Your household may apply the monthly Lifeline discount to either broadband internet service (home or wireless) or phone service (home or wireless) but not both.
If you qualify, the program offers a monthly discount of $8.75 towards telephone only service or a $9.25 discount for broadband internet service only or a discount of $12.75 towards phone and broadband internet service. Your household can qualify for the Lifeline benefit if your income is 135% or less than the federal poverty guidelines, or if you participate in SNAP, Medicaid, or other federal programs.
Persons living within the DUO Broadband service area can obtain information and/or apply for eligibility at https://www.lifelinesupport.org. Supporting documentation of the above is required and Lifeline recipients must annually recertify their eligibility in order to avoid loss of Lifeline benefit. You can also contact the Universal Service Administrative Company website at https://www.lifelinesupport.org/get-started or call USAC toll free at 1-800-234-9473.
