Minister's Message Compassion "Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?" Matthew 18:33 Jesus had many wonderful traits when He walked on earth. The Bible says he "went about doing good." All His many good deeds can be characterized by one word: compassion. Webster defines compassion as "Sorrow for the sufferings or trouble of another, with an urge to help; pity; deep sympathy." Jesus had compassion on the multitudes. On one occasion He was moved with compassion because of their instability; they were as sheep having no shepherd. He was also moved with compassion toward them and healed their sick. He had compassion for their hunger and fed thousands miraculously. Jesus not only had compassion on multitudes, but on individuals as well. He had compoassion on a widow whose only son had died, and raised him from the dead. Jesus wept when He saw Mary weeping because of her brother's death, and raised Lazarus back to life. He had compassion for a blind man and restored his sight. Jesus' greatest compassion was for sinners. He came to call sinners to repentance. Shortly before His death. He looked on Jerusalem an wept because they had not received Him. He suffered the brutality, humiliation and death of the cross because of compassion for lost souls. Are you one of those lost souls? He suffered for everyone. If you accept by faith His sacrifice of compassion on the cross, you can be saved. I pray you will. God bless you.
