Jamestown First Baptist in the Community
COMMUNITY MINISTRIES
“Giving Ourselves Away in Jesus’ Name”
Last fall, our church conducted a “Free Oil Change for Single Mothers.” The event was just as much a blessing to our church members as it was to the single mothers who attended. So, our plans are to make the Single Mothers Free Oil Change a bi-annual event at Jamestown First Baptist Church.
Currently, the next oil change is scheduled for March or April 2010. Watch our web site as the time draws near.
Lake Fest—Jamestown celebrates the 4th of July weekend on our town square with Lake Fest. Last summer, our youth ministry (“Üth Grüp”) gave away more than 200 ice-cold soft drinks to people at Lake Fest. Each person who received a soft drink was also given a copy of our church’s Spiritual Facts of Life brochure which explains how we enter into a relationship with God.
Our church also takes an active part in the Russell County Ministerial Association.
Situated at Lake Cumberland, our community is a resort community, meaning that we can potentially touch the lives of hundreds of vacationers each season. Follow the link to see a description of our Lake ministries.
It is our belief that it is the church’s responsibility to demonstrate God’s love to our community in practical ways—by “giving ourselves away in Jesus’ name.”Only then can we expect to be heard as we share God’s love and concern for the people we are trying to reach.
